What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is nothing more than a highly relaxed and focused mental state. It’s really lovely actually and very Empowering!
Is Hypnosis Mind Control?
Absolutely not! You are always in control of yourself, and in a state of consciousness. Most likely you will remember everything that we talk about or work on during and after our session is over. All we are doing is merely bypassing the conscious mind and working with the subconscious mind and sometimes the unconscious mind.
What does Hypnosis feel like?
For many people it is just a very relaxed state and doesn’t feel like much of anything. Though some people say they have felt Euphoric or even super relaxed while in Hypnosis.
Is Hypnosis Sleep?
NOPE! It is not sleep. When you are sleeping we would not be able to do the work that needs to be done to help you feel better. In hypnosis we may use terms like sleep, but we really only mean go deeply relaxed and close your eye’s like you are sleeping.
I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. Aren’t people who go to a hypnotist weak?
Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, I’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.
What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?
The difference is, that when you speak to your friend, you are only sharing or venting your concerns. Which is nice, but will not help you get the relief you are looking for emotionally.
When you work with someone like me who is trained to do this work professionally, we set goals, we determine if we are reaching them and if need be we adjust the work so that you can achieve the goals you come in for. A Hypnosis professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, hypnotherapy is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, and you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.
How does it work? What do I have to do in our sessions?
Because each person has different issues and goals for Hypnotherapy, it will be different depending on the individual. I will tailor my sessions with you, to fit “YOUR” specific needs.
How long will it take?
In General depending the issues we will be working on, it can take as little as 4 sessions or as many as 6. Once you have addressed the issue(s) you have come in for, if you feel you need to brush up once in awhile, you can always schedule an independent session or two to get you feeling your best.
I want to get the most out of Hypnosis. What can I do to help?
I am so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions! Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success. Hypnosis will not work if you do not want to be doing it in the first place. You have to be ready to make changes and to do the work that is necessary to feel better and to change your circumstances for which you are seeking help with.
