I have written about Soul Entrainment work and also about Past Life Regression work along with many other topics involving Hypnotherapy protocols. One such protocol that I’ve recently brought into my practice is Trauma Collapse Therapy.
First, let’s start with a big question: What is trauma? Its clinical definition from the American Psychological Association is, “Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape, or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical. Longer-term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms, like headaches or nausea.”
As you can see, a broad array of symptoms can be caused by a particularly unsettling event or experience. Trauma could look like witnessing someone being harmed or killed, or having a particularly physically or mentally challenging event affect you directly in life.
In neuroscience, the belief is that what “fires together, wires together.” So when you are experiencing a traumatic event, your body goes into fight, flight, or freeze mode, which exudes hormones in the body, such as cortisol and adrenaline. When those chemicals are running amok in your body, your brain is—at the same time—trying to make sense of it all and, most importantly, keep you safe.
So there you are in the heat of the moment, connecting hormones with new neural pathways in the brain. This sets off an unfortunate series of events, which then creates trauma in the body and the mind. It lives in cellular memory. Just like our muscles have memory, so do our cells.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, it is my job to help people overcome these newly created neural pathways and the symptoms they cause—all while trying to not create more trauma for the individual by having them experience the event(s) again in their subconscious mind. With Trauma Collapse Therapy (TCT), you don’t even talk about the event or the trauma that took place, other than in general terms. Enough for me to understand what might have happened.
TCT was created by Martin Castor Peterson of Denmark; he is a pioneer and the creator of the Castorian Collapse method. It incorporates different ways for an individual to experience healing at the deepest levels through a series of hypnotic processes that give the individual all the power. We also use the brain and the subconscious abilities to override and create new neural pathways in the white matter of the brain so that a person can overcome the trauma without having to experience it all over again.
During TCT, the individual gets to decide how ready they are to let go of the trauma in the body and the brain. They also can decide to work through the trauma to feel more empowered and not overwhelmed by the side effects that trauma causes on the body/mind connection. In essence, through a TCT practitioner’s guidance, the individual can connect to various resource states and use those states to overcome and rewire the brain for success.
TCT is not for everyone and it should be considered carefully just like any other mental health protocol. A typical session is about 90 minutes and is usually successful in one session; however, additional sessions may be needed, depending on the individual.
